IWG launches its co-working office brand ‘Spaces’ in India

NEW DELHI: Spaces, an Amsterdam-born co-working space provider, has launched its first shared-space in Cyber City, Gurgaon.

Spaces along with five other brands i.e. Regus, Signature, Open Offices, Kora and MOS are the subsidiary of IWG, a global workplace provider headquartered in Brussels.

The 30,000 sq ft of co-working space in Gurgaon has 430 seats capacity. The company expects this centre to break-even in 8-12 months.

This is the 25th facility globally for Spaces. The company plans to open its next India facility in Chennai on May 1 and is likely to aggressively expand to 50 locations over the next few months.

Chennai shared-space will be spread in 35-40,000 sq ft and will have 400-500 seat capacity.

During the launch Harsh Lambah, Country Manager, Spaces said, “Spaces is redefining the way work is done, providing a contemporary, social and inspirational environment with a real focus on community. Spaces give members the opportunity to take their careers into their own hands and our events enable them to get involved in the buzz of the Spaces way of life. While our staff takes care of all the day-to-day logistics of the workplace, our members are free to connect and get creative.”

Walls N Roof Comment : Co-working spaces have been the talk of the town. The commercial sector has witnessed a significant rise. Co-working spaces were initially looked upon as spaces primarily for startups. Co-working spaces are seeing an increasing inclination from various conglomerates. The attraction is due to lower rentals, a social and inspirational environment and much more. The group Spaces venture into the Indian commercial space started in North will be extended down south.
