There are several developmental plans discussed upon by TMC (Thane Municipal Corporation) general body to enhance the connectivity feature of the area in order to facilitate the commuters with easy and comfortable transit system.

1) TMC has planned of widening Pokhran Road No. 1. The widening of this road will reduce the bottlenecks faced at Vartak Nagar junctions. It used to take a lot of time to cover the entire stretch on daily basis.
TMC has demolished every structure that was an obstacle for this project. The existing road linking Eastern Express Highway and Shastri Nagar will be widened to 40 meters from its current width of just 20 meters. Hence this newly constructed road will accommodate the growing traffic and in turn will bring a huge relief to the commuters.

2) After widening Pokhran Road No. 1, TMC has planned further to widen the Road No. 2 as well, by demolishing illegal constructions on the station road to decongest the existing roads in the locality.

3) Third plan is to minimize the gap and hence reduce the travel time between both the roads of Pokhran i.e. Road No. 1 and Road No. 2. In order to do so, a road will be constructed to overcome the gap. Because, currently the travelers have to travel around Devidaya Society Road Phase 1or take a detour around Upwan Lake to reach from one road to another.The plan is to develop a cement road of length 1300 meters having a width of 40m. The estimated cost for this plan is around Rs. 36 Cr.
